It seems to be a random pattern. Mostly because AMD doesn't use chip names in their marketing; they just present cryptic combinations of numbers and letters. I imagine a third party might organize a giveaway, but I question AMD would confuse their branding once the cards are released—they’d prefer everyone talking about the Radeon R9 490X2 Fury Nano HD or whatever chip they end up naming it with.

They previously completed a major overhaul on the Mustang Gamma, adding a distinctive paint design known as the Mustang Omega. This wasn't connected to any marketing strategy for Fiji; if they chose not to disclose it, they simply didn't release details about it.
