I chose to part ways with Erandur. He mentioned he'd be at Nightcaller's fort now. I'm trying to get him back again. Google didn't help, so I came here to ask where exactly he is. Looks like this info says: 'If dismissed, he will return to Nightcaller Temple; however, if you wish to get him again as a follower, he may not reappear and seems to vanish from the game entirely.' A smart move would be to dismiss him at the Temple.

It seems like you're asking for a playful twist on a question. How about this: What makes things interesting?

If he’s dismissed, he’ll go back to Nightcaller Temple; but if you want him again as a follower, he might vanish completely from the game. To prevent this, it’s best to dismiss him at the Temple. I’ll attempt this and let you know the outcome.

I plan to retire Elandur to pursue another task. Once a solution emerges, I'll be ready again!

I left him close to his temple (just outside), and it works fine. He started moving toward it again, unlike before when he vanished completely instantly.
