I've learned about the Sony breach and since they haven't communicated much, I'm assuming the ransom threat is real. I'm checking what actions I can take to protect myself. The group accessed all Sony systems, which suggests they likely have access to your account details—like your PSN and email information. I removed my card from PSN, changed the password, and used a different email on the Sony site. However, the verification code timing is problematic; it arrives about ten minutes late, making it hard to log in even after removing the card. Trying to reset passwords might help, but since the attackers already have access, those credentials could still be compromised.

Obtain a fresh card. Removing it doesn’t indicate they lack your card details; simply contact the bank and inform them of your suspicion that your card number may have been compromised. Request cancellation of the current card and request a replacement.
