I'm trying to clarify this situation as accurately as possible since it's proving quite challenging to articulate.
The concern arises mainly when specific games trigger performance problems in other applications. It mostly occurs with graphically demanding titles, though World of Warcraft is an exception.
I use a two-monitor configuration—both at 1440p resolution. My main display runs at 165hz with G-Sync compatibility, while the secondary monitor operates at 144hz with full G-Sync support.
The problem I'm encountering is noticeable when certain games are prioritized, causing significant lag in applications on my secondary screen. For instance, while playing World of Warcraft and progressing through earlier expansion zones, I'm simultaneously viewing media on the other monitor. Whenever I shift my camera to view something, the content on that screen appears to slow down, as if it's being impacted by the GPU workload.
At first, I suspected this was related to shadow rendering; after temporarily disabling it and seeing performance improve, it didn't resolve completely. Now another zone with different shaders is also affecting other windows.
Despite the game running smoothly without noticeable issues, this issue persists in Second Life, where turning shadows back on would restore full graphical quality.

Do you have the newest motherboard BIOS and the latest AMD chipset drivers from the official AMD site? Or are you depending only on the drivers provided by Microsoft? I recommend updating all the drivers listed on your motherboard product page—covering network adapters (LAN or Wi-Fi, both), audio controllers, chipset—and making sure the most recent stable BIOS is installed. Additionally, performing a fresh Nvidia driver installation via DDU could be beneficial.

I have everything updated yet I keep facing this problem. The issue isn't limited to when the games are running, but also when they take priority. So whenever they're active and in focus, it causes the slowdown. Even if another web browser is open over the game, the performance drops only in certain areas. It's strange and I don't know where to find a solution. I really want to watch videos while gaming, so fixing this would be perfect.
