Hey everyone, just checked in about my recent CPU upgrade—my friend installed a 2700x now. It’s been ages since I’ve really thought about this chip and its compatibility. With a 1440p 144Hz display, what GPU would work best?

What is your budget and which games do you play with it? For high refresh rates like 1440p at 144Hz, you want maximum GPU performance, so a 3070/3070 Ti or better would be ideal. A 2700x setup should easily hit over 100fps in most titles—just keep the SMT off if you're streaming, but leave it on for gaming. If you stream or need extra stability, 8C8T is perfect for pure gaming.

A 6700XT looks promising. It's affordable too. Priced at $359 with two free games available.

Ray tracing adds extra strain on the CPU, especially in games such as Cyberpunk or Spiderman, making it another good reason to prioritize RT performance.
