In 1800 there was no PC to crash.
During a month of using the Ryzen 7900X with the Asus B650E-F motherboard, I encountered some problems when launching Anno 1800. Before starting Anno 1800, my system ran smoothly without any issues. Other games worked fine, but Anno 1800 would crash intermittently. After some investigation, I found that even when sitting at the desk, it would restart unexpectedly. The shutdown seemed to mimic a power button press or reset switch activation. Details below:
1) Event Viewer showed no errors or critical alerts prior to the unexpected shutdown.
2) Reliability history displayed only "unexpected shut down" without further information.
3) Motherboard BIOS was updated to version 1222.
4) AMD Expo settings were configured for AUTO, Profile 1 and Profile 2.
5) I tested with a 1660TI GPU and swapped the PSU, but crashes persisted on desktop.
6) Running Memtest86 and Windows Memory Test reported no errors.
Additional attempts included:
- Adjusting voltage and frequency to 1.25V and 5.4GHz, which reduced crashes but not completely.
- Setting PBO to match motherboard specs, eliminating idling crashes but still causing issues during gameplay.
- Performing a RAM test with Mem82, which passed for sanity testing.
Despite trying several fixes, the problem remains unresolved. My return date is approaching. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Microcenter accepted my request despite it conflicting with their return policy. With the updated components, the CPU and motherboard are functioning properly. However, at the standard RAM frequency of 6000mhz, performance remains slower than my previous 5800x setup. Reducing the RAM speed to 5200mhz improves responsiveness significantly. After researching, it appears this issue is common with Ryzen 7000 models. The motherboard requests 6000mhz, but the CPU struggles to reach that speed. This is evident during extended memory training on every system boot. I’m weighing whether to switch to an Intel 13th Gen processor... Reports for the 13th generation are limited, so I might be mistaken.
