Hey there, this is my debut here—hope everyone is doing well! Right now I have an AMD build with 32GB of RAM, but sometimes it feels like that amount isn’t enough for my needs. I haven’t planned any upgrades for the next couple of years, so I’m mainly looking to boost performance a bit more with extra memory. My motherboard supports four RAM slots, and I’m currently using two. Here are my current specs: an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 12-core processor at 3.7GHz, MSI X470 GAMING PLUS motherboard, Crucial Ballistix 3200MHz RAM (32GB total, split into two 16GB modules).
My question is whether it’s worth investing in another 2x16GB or a fresh 2x32/4x16 setup. If I decide to go for a new kit, what should I focus on? Are there key factors I need to match for compatibility and performance? And if I find a compatible option, could there still be issues with compatibility or stability? Thanks a lot for your advice!
Get comparable RAM specs and it will handle 4x16 perfectly. These AM4 memory controllers have been refined over time and perform reliably.
