Relies on the type of material I'm handling. For videos, I use alphabetical folders in my Videos folder, with each show in its own subfolder under the corresponding letter. With music, I sort by origin since I have many tracks and can't rely on automatic sorting. For images, I categorize by format: one folder for screenshots, another for photos, and a third for wallpapers. These can include subfolders based on source or date. From my experience, transforming a chaotic collection into a structured system is a significant effort—especially if mistakes occur and you have to rebuild. Once organized, maintaining it becomes much simpler. Manual setup demands time and focus; without discipline, you're likely to abandon it and end up with a partially sorted collection that feels overwhelming. Automatic methods need careful preparation, as they require complete certainty about how the system will function before you can trust it.
