I improved my MOBO and CPU thinking about upgrading for better performance, but my keyboard and mouse stopped working. Can someone suggest ways to upgrade without a full reset using a flash drive?

Fresh install blah blah blah... Sorry, but is this some kind of universal answer for everything? No, you must connect ps2 mouse and/or keyboard and install USB drivers. Then you may try to upgrade if you want to upgrade. You can of course install win10 from zero, but that is always your choice what do you want to do. You asked about keyboard and mouse and problem is that you have no drivers for them. Other method is a little more difficult. Swap your motherboard back, install vnc, configure remote access on your phone, swap motherboard again and control your mouse and keyboard by phone. Other method? Use some pcie USB card. Other method? Swap mobo and place USB installer in autostart bat with parameters that install it without user prompt (look for internet how to do that). Then swap motherboard and run your system. This option is probably worst.
