Improving WIN 11 performance
Looking for ways to boost your Windows 11 gaming experience? Here are some useful tips to optimize your system!
My starting point is an open start-up folder. Just turn off all except Windows Defender. Then I review my apps through settings and uninstall anything I’ll never use. For instance, I don’t use maps on my PC or any built-in games, and I remove any Windows app that has a third-party alternative. I also adjust the settings to keep Game mode enabled constantly, which improves performance by disabling unnecessary background tasks. These tasks only activate when a launched app calls for them. I also limit settings like Network, Indexing, Prefetch, etc., and turn off automatic updates. I disable notifications and anything that wants to refresh automatically. I make a few small adjustments here and there, but this is my main checklist after each Windows update—checking it once a month and proceeding only if everything looks clean. The whole process takes about 15 minutes, plus a few restarts to confirm the cleanup.
