I’m thinking about getting a upgrade for the holiday season. I’m curious if swapping in a Ryzen 7 3700X makes sense compared to just buying a better case or cooler. Since I already have a stock cooler, I’m not sure if that’s enough. My GPU is a strong RTX 2070, so I doubt it would be a major bottleneck with the new CPU. If I don’t play super demanding games, upgrading the CPU might not really help much.

What's your current temperature? I'm checking to see if it's within normal ranges and not overheating. If it is, we'll look at other options like a CPU upgrade.

Currently, my CPU is operating around 60-70°C in most games. It’s not overly hot, but I wanted to extend its lifespan a bit. My GPU, however, tends to get quite warm during intense games like Warzone, usually hovering between 50-70°C.
