Hey there! I have a quick question. I’m planning to overclock my 2600x. I’ve set a solid base speed, but when I switch the PC to power save mode, it doesn’t seem to affect power usage or cooling. The fans and noise levels also stay unchanged. In Task Manager, the clock speed doesn’t drop even with different power plans. Is there a way to fix this, or is this just how it works? the voltage was surprisingly low. honestly, in gigabyte boards you don’t lock a fixed value—just tweak it as needed. adding +0.05 and then +0.075 gives you a total of +0.125.

You likely ran a utility such as Ryzen Master instead of BIOS. It's common to disable auto-downclocking for better stability during overclocking. Intel uses Speed Step, while AMD has its own term—check your CPU manual. Also, confirm if other BIOS settings affect Windows power plans; some CPUs aren't responsive to those changes.

Only XMP enabled and the steps I previously instructed were followed, nothing else was altered.
