Improving GTA V performance on low clock CPU models
Improving GTA V performance on low clock CPU models
I have two 18-core Xeon CPUs for a total of 76 threads, but each can only clock to around 3.1ghz. This is a big limit in GTA V, since it only uses 1-2 threads really. 1-2 sit at 100% and 4 total even see use by the application, leading to lag like in the attached clip. I have all the settings at the highest and render scale at 150% since my RTX A4500 can handle it very well, but what would be the best setting to change to get better CPU performance? (Excuse the compressed footage, had to compress it down a bit to fit on the site.) This seems to be engine limit shutting down after exceeding 178 GTA V rage levels—what frame rate are you seeing?
Visualization is active with high settings, yet performance remains steady at about 70 frames per second.
Switch to full screen mode. GTA V has several issues compared to other games, and using Rivatuner to control FPS is preferable to VSync in GTA V.
