Hello.

Would I experience a smoother gaming performance by locking my frames to 100 (with a frametime of 10ms), considering that my FPS fluctuates between 144 and 120, averaging around 120? I believe locking to the worst-case scenario – a longer frametime – might create an FPS buffer. While my overall average frame rate would likely drop, maintaining a consistent frametime could lead to significantly improved visuals compared to the stuttering I sometimes encounter with higher, fluctuating FPS. Has anyone experimented with this approach? Would it actually improve things?

Give it a shot to see how well it performs on your setup—it’s easy enough to adjust the settings and revert them if you don't notice any changes. The results will vary depending on your specific game, graphics card, and monitor.
