Improving CPU performance
I purchased a refurbished 4500 to swap in for my 1500X. I upgraded the motherboard BIOS to accommodate the new CPU. Once that was done, I swapped in the 4500 and restarted the system into BIOS, which began loading Windows. However, the screen went dark with no output. I also attempted to boot into Linux via a USB drive, but it functioned similarly—allowing interaction with the installation screen. Running a memtest86 on the RAM showed no errors. If I reinstall the old CPU, the BIOS should detect it and show all its details.
Yeah, that's what it sounds like. It feels like I'm still getting used to this new CPU.
