I live in an area where Wi-Fi is built into the building, and I have a router set up in my kitchen. There’s only one available port for a wired connection, which goes directly to my PC in the room. I’m trying to improve the Wi-Fi signal in both my living room and bedroom. I’ve been looking into solutions but am unsure if setting up a switch is enough. If so, I could run two cables to the living room and bedroom to connect an extender, while keeping my current connection active for my PC. I included a picture of what I’m working with. The cable I’m using seems to be connecting other routers inside the building.

Switch and a range extender seem to be a solid choice.

You might set up a switch with a wireless access point, or purchase an affordable router, apply custom firmware to it, and convert it into a wireless AP.

Sure, a switch and a wireless AP are great choices. What do you need them for?
