You seem to be misunderstanding my point. I didn’t claim all power supplies from these companies are top-notch. What I meant is that I haven’t encountered any issues with PSUs from these brands. It’s more like one person saying “The Sun in the Summer makes the weather too hot,” and me responding “It’s not too hot for me.” Both perspectives can be valid. For some, 90 degrees in summer could feel excessive, while others might view it as pleasant.
Hello, For a 3900x + 2080S setup I’d recommend Tier B+ minimum from this selection. @TofuHaroto’s suggestions are solid but the choice really depends on your market. I’d also include the Seasonic GC, GX and GM, Phanteks AMP, EVGA G2, Coolermaster MWE Gold—items that are typically in stock and within the same price range. It all comes down to how you measure it: °C for survival, °K for temperature limits, °F for comfort, and angle doesn’t really matter.

If your PSU is inexpensive and poorly built, skip this whole process. A 500$ CPU, pricey motherboard, and a 700$ GPU just aren’t worth it. It’s a waste of money. I faced the same issue—my old PSU was outdated and low-wattage. For my new 900$ GPU, I upgraded to a better 80+ Gold unit. This way, even if you later upgrade your GPU or CPU, your PSU will still be solid and future-proof. Consider selling your current PSU and investing in at least a 750w 80+ Gold model. It gives you more flexibility for future upgrades, since GPUs are becoming increasingly power-hungry.
