Improve your processor performance
Improve your processor performance
Hello, for an upgrade matching your i7-10700K, look for a compatible CPU in the same price range. Your friend’s advice about RAM speed is correct—2400 MHz might not be sufficient for newer AMD chips. Aim for at least 3200–3600 MHz for better performance. Upgrade your motherboard to ensure compatibility with the new CPU. Let me know if you need more details!
there are several ccs with higher latency, but intel also has its own delays. you mentioned a preference for 3200 cl16 or better. could you share your current configuration, budget, and workload details?
you could wait for zen 3. and use nvec for now. but to answer your question. a 3600 with a b500 a pro or an aorus pro and a ripjaws kit should be good enough, or you can keep your original kit and see how far you can go with it ( in terms of manual overclocking) though i recommend waiting for zen 3.
That's a good question. I'm not sure what you mean by "nvec." Could you clarify the context?
turing nvec works with your GPU hardware encoder, offering performance similar to x264 while maintaining minimal impact on speed.
What are the memory speeds? If you reduce them sufficiently and adjust your Infinity configuration manually, performance may remain stable or improve.
Just hold on for Zen 3 and consider using NVIDIA's nVENC for now. Later you can decide which platform you prefer. If you're interested, you can also upgrade to a better setup or explore the limits of manual overclocking.
