I own an i5 7500 CPU, a mid-range M.2 2x8 RAM setup at 16GB, 2400MHz, and an EVGA 600 PSU. My GPU is an XFX RX 570 with 8GB GDDR6. I'm considering upgrades to improve future-proofing and gaming performance, with a budget of about $300.

B450 paired with a 3600 processor, plus a RAM upgrade. Or enhance your existing RAM by overclocking it.

Choosing a B450 with a 3600 is ideal for long-term stability, but you likely won’t notice significant gains in gaming performance. Upgrading to a GPU like an RTX 2060 or RX 5700 would provide the biggest boost for your current setup.

RTX 2060 or RX5700 paired with an i5 7500 creates a performance limit. Your setup is solid, but I suggest upgrading the CPU. If you were choosing, I’d pick the i7-7700K. The i7-8700K is an option, but it won’t fit your MOBO.

It might slow things down, but it still offers improved gaming performance compared to just upgrading the CPU

Your current GPU isn't reaching its full potential due to your CPU. Upgrading the GPU would definitely help, but the RTX would always be limited by your motherboard's architecture. The RTX 2060 requires a Coffee Lake socket, which the current setup doesn't support. You'd need a newer GPU with a compatible socket to get optimal performance. I strongly advise against purchasing an RTX 2060. Consider getting a new motherboard and CPU instead, or opt for a GPU with minimal bottleneck issues.
