It costs an additional £100, but I’m unsure if it’s worth it. The new model seems to offer only slight improvements over the current one.
I purchased the most affordable 5700 XT last year for $369. With a custom fan curve and minor adjustments, it stays under 85°C during intense use and drops to around 80°C when loading data. It produces a loud sound but works well. You can buy it now for just $369. The Sapphire Pulse costs $30 more. Should I consider it? If I had the chance again, I’d choose this model. Back then it was $429 and I didn’t think the extra $75 justified it. The higher-end 5700 XT usually costs $440-450. The pulse or Gigabyte 5700 XT OC offers better value for money around $400, though the cheapest options ($370) have some drawbacks like noise and average thermal performance. Prices between $450 and $370 add about 20% more cost without significant gains in speed or cooling.
Yes, avoid the bios flash and overclocking for the 5700. If you proceed, it remains competitive only against the 5700xt. My unusual suggestion would be to purchase the Asus Tuf 5700xt. Keep it untouched and file a return if the warranty nears its end in three years (warranty terms should match in the UK).
