Servers are terrible and no browser for them is worse. I'm exhausted from getting 200 ping while some games run smoothly at 40ms.

I have some reservations about it, but I’m drawn to the concept. You’re especially interested in optics—something like Insurgency could work well for you.

my latency stayed around 60 to 70 when i checked, but setting up a game can be tricky because it’s mainly about matching players.

I only participated in a few games, but the matchmaking takes a long time and the gameplay was decent. It would be more enjoyable playing with friends.
