I rushed through assembling the components for my first build, skipping some important details about the motherboard I received. It’s an ASUS Strix B360-I gaming model with 3600 CL16 RAM, but the board only supports 2666. I intend to push this CPU to its limits for games like MW and BF. Would there be noticeable differences in FPS and latency compared to a better setup?

Uncertain. However, if timing adjustments are possible, you can still achieve low latency.

I believe the variation in frames per second would be minimal, particularly with Intel. It would certainly influence lag and reaction time if performance improved, though. However, the actual change is likely to be small.

I believe the improvement won't be noticeable without using any kind of stats.

Additionally, I sense Mick is likely anticipating the right responses. That's why I'm focusing on the 13K post tally...

I don't understand much about it. I saw some videos and articles that compare different speeds with various cases and the opposite.

Intel focuses on high-speed memory. Because the board caps at 2667mhz, you'd lose around 5% performance. The 8700K handles 4000mhz CL16 and even tighter speeds... We could compare ourselves directly. Typing on the 8700K now. Which benchmark would you like to see? (No games installed; it mostly spends time folding.)

I don’t know which are the best, but I can try to find some. I’ll install the three games you mentioned and get things ready for you.
