Disabling hyper-threading reduces CPU performance but saves power and heat. On a 3930k, you disable it via BIOS settings or chipset options to lower power consumption.

It's possible to adjust settings in the bios on most systems. In Windows, you can turn off certain cores. This usually boosts performance by about 30%, though results vary depending on the software.

It will appear in the BIOS at a specific location determined by the motherboard. Regarding performance, it should be roughly 60-70% of its previous multi-threaded speed, while single-threaded performance shouldn't be impacted unless you compensate with higher clock speeds.

I wouldn't suggest it for gaming given your past issues. Your hardware setup seems limited for smooth performance on GTA 5 at 60 FPS.
