Hello! I'm trying to figure out if it's feasible to reinstall Windows 7, apply updates, and then restore my current setup—including installed apps like Spotify and Firefox—by saving a snapshot. I want to be able to revert to that state later if needed. I've heard this might be possible but don't know the exact steps. Could someone guide me through the process and list the necessary programs? Also, I'm curious about copying a Chrome folder so it keeps my passwords, login details, themes, etc. before starting a fresh installation. Thanks for your help!

You can log in using your Google account in Chrome, and all settings will match those from the old device.

Thanks for your quick responses! Would buying a program be the sole option? Is there an alternative method without needing a Google account? *I don’t have one.*

It’s the simplest option available—it does exactly what you want without any trouble.

Really wished I could skip the spy Google account. Guess I’ll have to log in again. Thanks everyone! Now I just need to figure out what’s going on with the image.

Windows comes with its own imaging tool. It didn’t work for me several times, so I turned to Clonezilla. It’s free and performs well.

That's correct! If you need guidance, look for the FAQ or tutorial section. Let me know if you'd like more details!

Both options are available, though they won't cover everything you asked for, but they'll make the switch much easier

Download the program from the provided link. Install it on a DVD or USB drive, which is approximately 150MB in size. Insert the disc or insert the USB into your computer and restart it. It will launch its own setup environment. View a YouTube tutorial first to become comfortable with the interface. The process is straightforward, quick, and efficient. Creating a 24GB image took me about 10 minutes. I had a game running and all my utility applications, along with Windows updates.
