The screenshots are stored in the default downloads folder of Windows 11. Pressing the Windows key, Shift, and S simultaneously typically opens the downloads location. The damaged files usually end up in the Downloads or Pictures subfolders.

Transfer to clipboard. They aren't real files until you save them in a place like a Word doc or email. Just paste them wherever you need them.

It seems everything is not properly stored in the right-click location. You mentioned having screenshots saved elsewhere, which should go into the designated folder.

You'll need software such as Greenshot or similar that automatically saves your screenshots. Pressing Win+Shift+S highlights the desired section and copies it, just like using Ctrl+C.

Pressing the Windows button plus the V key brings up your clipboard and history. *Note: This function was added in Windows 10. Excellent addition.*

It isn't very useful. The functionality is poor and it doesn't support saving for easy access. This adds unnecessary effort and isn't worth the time.

Works well on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Distance may differ, but I rely on it every day and it saves me a lot. The shortcut isn’t saved anywhere—it stays in the clipboard. Pressing Ctrl+C will either take a screenshot or open the clipboard with Win+V.

I can access my saved notes easily, but dragging them onto the desk isn't possible since you only see a circular indicator showing they're not allowed there. Clicking the saved image closes the clipboard, and right-clicking it adds a black box but restricts further actions. These features don't really help and make files hard to use.

It seems like your setup might have issues. If you're open to it, give this a shot... otherwise, consider an alternative as recommended by @Skiiwee29. The feature works well when functional, but new updates are often needed for stability. Windows 11 is still relatively new.

I tried the app called ditto, but it wasn’t functioning correctly—unlike anything else on Microsoft. The problem got worse, and I couldn’t find a way to uninstall it. It claims to be in the C: local file area, but it doesn’t appear there or in the control panel. This came from the Microsoft Store, not a third-party app, and I’m really frustrated because everything Microsoft seems to have broken. I hope it works better on an Apple Mac soon!
