A reasonable OC board should cost around $300. For those aiming to exceed limits, a serious overclocking setup can range up to $400 plus brands like Aorus Master, Asus Hero, or EVGA Kingpin. However, unless you're solely focused on overclocking, the extra expense doesn't justify the performance boost.

Given the current trend of minimal CPU overclocking, enhancing performance with a premium motherboard might not justify the cost, especially for gaming where investing in graphics cards would yield better results.

It's not worth pursuing 12thGen Intel. Previously, the 3rd gen turbo reached around 3.8GHz, occasionally up to 5.1GHz in special situations, and rarely hit 4.8 or 4.9GHz. A 1.0GHz OC is typical.

With 12thGen, Intel optimized performance, offering a base speed of about 2.8GHz and turbo up to 5.1GHz across all cores at 4.7GHz. Gaining much more isn't feasible since the CPU tends to run faster on individual cores rather than locking everything on.

Consider saving your money or investing in a better GPU, as it would yield better results than spending on a Z that only improves a few frames per second.
