I'm unable to increase my advertised 2400mhz RAM performance.

I think this motherboard is pretty much a no-go. If I go for the a88x model, would it even work? Don't throw money away on it. The performance jump from 1866 to 2400 is barely noticeable, and if you can return it, it might be better to just buy an i3 6100 instead of wasting time.
What were you anticipating from low-end components? The mobo and CPU are only rated for 1866, so exceeding that could lead to compatibility issues and the need for workarounds.
Yeah, I think you're right about that. I would have chosen the A88X chipset or a standard CPU and GPU instead. After all, this is my first PC build and I wasn't very clear on the parts selection.

Yeah, you're right about that. I should have chosen the A88X chipset or something better with a regular CPU and GPU. But since this is my first PC build, I wasn't very sure about picking the right components.
😛
Now you're left with a lot of unnecessary parts (in terms of specs) compared to what you actually get in performance. You really can't do much if the motherboard doesn't support XMP for higher settings—manual overclocking probably won't help either.
The board needs to technically accommodate that OC. The BIOS has been updated recently, which improved memory compatibility.
The board needs to technically accommodate that OC. Have you updated the BIOS? There was a BIOS release for it that improved memory compatibility.
Yes technically, but the download link only lists C10R as compatible at 2400, which is uncertain. I didn't recommend BIOS since the latest version should already be installed (you can't use the CPU without one of the newer ones), though this might still work.

I'm going to try installing that update, but I'm unsure it would help because I've already downloaded the latest one that supports godavari chips. About half an hour later, I used @BIOS which "updated" it, but it was already at the newest BIOS version, so it didn't work. Still appreciate the advice.

I didn’t recommend BIOS because it should already have the latest version (you can’t use the CPU without one of the newer ones). Still, it might be a viable option.
I’m concluding this motherboard is somewhat a POS. If I purchase the A88x version, could it work then?

I've reached the conclusion that this motherboard is pretty average. If I purchase the a88x model, could there be any chance it would function properly? Don't squander your money on it. The performance jump from 1866 to 2400 is negligible, and if you can return it, it might be better to just discard it and buy an i3 6100 like most people do.
