Hello!

I’m attempting to locate a video game I once possessed. I believe it appeared approximately fifteen years ago, possibly even earlier.
(Please forgive my English and if any of what I’m conveying proves challenging to interpret, kindly inquire!)
Here are the recollections I have – and they’re not extensive, unfortunately:

* The game was set in a fantasy world.
* It operated on a personal computer.
* I don’t recall any extensive dungeon delving; it primarily consisted of open areas.
* The character portraits were smaller than those seen in Baldur’s Gate.
* There were numerous distinct schools of magic available for study.
* Navigation and objectives were often unclear – I don’t believe a map was provided.
* Access to new regions involved reaching the boundaries of your current location.
* I received it as a complimentary gift alongside a computer gaming publication.
* Gameplay involved traversing large cities and expansive grasslands.
* When beginning a new game and developing a character, several species were selectable.
* I’m uncertain about this detail, but when initiating a new game, the starting location might not always be consistent. Possibly it varied depending on your character’s origin or was determined randomly.
* The visuals were rudimentary, especially when compared to Baldur’s Gate and other games listed below – it was difficult to discern details regarding monsters and your character.
* Companion characters were unavailable.
* One of the playable races was a feline humanoid, similar to Khajiits in Elder Scrolls.
* The character portraits were noticeably superior in quality compared to the rest of the game’s graphics.
* Combat consisted primarily of left-click attacks for weapons and right-click spell activations (I believe so!), with a somewhat sluggish pace.
* It bore a resemblance to Lineage (1998) regarding character distance and was single-player only.
* The art style had similarities to games developed by Spiderweb Software.
* Numerous side quests appeared as randomly generated tasks, such as “Retrieve X from Location Y and deliver it to Z.”

More fragments are surfacing as I write this, but accurately describing it is proving difficult.
If additional information comes to mind, I will add it here.

I acknowledge that numerous games could potentially align with this description.

Here’s a list of games it *isn't*:

* Any games sourced from myabandonware.com
* Ancient Evil
* Arcanum
* Baldur’s Gate
* Blade & Sword
* Broken Land
* Darkstone
* Diablo
* Dink Smallwood
* Dungeon Siege
* Ghostblood
* Gorasul
* Icewind Dale
* Konung: Legends of the North
* Magic & Mayhem
* Neverwinter Nights
* Nightstone
* Nox
* Planescape: Torment
* Revenant
* Sacred
* Shadowflare
* Throne of Darkness
* The Chosen: Well of Souls

Unfortunately, that’s not possible. The visual style of this game is significantly less complex and it deviates from Dungeons & Dragons.
