Hello everyone, welcome here and I really need your assistance.
Yesterday I performed a small overclock on my FX 8320 from 3.5ghz to 4ghz, but nothing unusual has happened yet. However, I want to bring it back down to 3.5ghz and I’m not sure how.
I first adjusted the BIOS on my saberthoot 990fx, which was running fine, so I set it back to normal using load defaults. After restarting, the BIOS displayed 3500mhz. Then I tried the AMD Overdrive feature (which turned out to be a bad idea), and it confirmed it was already at 4ghz. Before that, I reset it to default.
I cleared the CMOS and the CPUID reported it was running between 3.7 and 4ghz.
Could anyone help me undo these changes or let me know if this setup is stable or unstable? How can I fix it?

The CPU-Z image displays it operating in turbo mode. Are the cool and quiet features activated? C1E? Is the Windows power setting balanced?

I turned off the Turbo Core Technology setting, and it now appears to be back to the standard mode even while playing. Thanks by the way.

If you're not overclocking, Turbo Mode can stay active
so the CPU can increase its speed when fewer cores are needed. Just turn off C&Q and C1E. They let the processor slow down its clocks and voltage during idle or light use.
