I just returned my 4090 because every time I restarted and played videos on Twitch or YouTube, my computer would freeze. After checking, the card was faulty and I received a replacement model (a Pallet game Rock 4090 now runs on an ASUS ROG Strix OC). When I connect it, the problem recurs, especially when watching YouTube clips. I’ve already updated the drivers before troubleshooting. I’m using a 1500W Corsair power supply with their official cable, and I’ve been running a 4070 from another system for a week without issues. It’s really frustrating. Any suggestions?

Are you using the newest BIOS on your motherboard? Remember to reset the CMOS afterward. Ensure the resizable BAR is enabled. Considering the cost of that 4090, format your boot drive and consider a fresh Windows installation. Download the driver from the ASUS website. Avoid installing additional software such as GeForce Experience or other graphics programs. On the hardware side, verify all cables are securely connected. Good luck!

It looks like the 12VHPs cable was the issue, so they replaced it with a less reliable 4x8-pin adapter. Hopefully, that change helped stabilize the connection.
