This occurred roughly two months ago after upgrading my CPU from a Ryzen 3 3200G to a Ryzen 5 5500. I used an MSI a520m-a pro motherboard and was uncertain about the compatibility of the new chipset. To ensure everything ran smoothly, I decided to update the BIOS even though I thought it might not be necessary. As a tech enthusiast, I felt confident handling the task myself. Navigating the BIOS was straightforward, but once I accessed M-Flash it displayed a black screen for 15 minutes. Assuming a glitch, I powered it off and on again, only to realize I’d damaged it. I spent about an hour and a half troubleshooting why my system wouldn’t boot into Windows or the BIOS. I checked all connections, removed everything except the GPU and CPU, reset the BIOS, and even tried booting from Windows, but it didn’t work. After seeking advice online, I opted to install the 5500, believing there were no better options. Eventually, it started booting into Windows without any BIOS prompts, though it booted only a few seconds faster over time. I don’t have recordings of the incident, but I’d appreciate any video showing my attempts or proof of the fix.

Consider removing the CMOS battery and reinserting it, or check if ASUS, ASRock, or other brands offer a way to reset the clock using pins. This method often provides better reliability.

Just continue deleting on startup.
Locate the two pins for a BIOS reset and connect them while the computer is off.
Take out all storage devices to eliminate boot options.

If you're able to access Windows, hold Shift while clicking Restart. After the blue recovery screen appears, navigate to Troubleshoot, then Advanced Options, and finally UEFI Firmware Settings. The system should restart straight to BIOS there. You can disable the (very) quick boot option in that menu.

Seems like you've reset the BIOS, are you confident it was the right update?
