I'm stepping away from Intel now!
Most people are aware that Intel is limiting fast memory options. This is really frustrating for me. Everyone values fast RAM, and I’ve found that sometimes higher speeds come at a higher cost. Now it seems like the only viable choice is to move away from Intel. I’m looking for others who share this opinion, so please respond here and exchange your thoughts. Even if you disagree, feel free to share your perspective.
Many in the tech world are shifting away from Intel toward AMD at the moment. This isn’t mainly about memory capacity; it’s largely due to AMD’s superior multithreaded capabilities and nearly matching single-thread performance compared to Intel. Plus, AMD is generally more affordable. When you examine component breakdowns, AMD is usually the better choice unless the device is specifically built for gaming—even then, AMD tends to be preferred. In my view, the only situation where Intel still makes sense is for high-performance gaming laptops where you can’t find AMD chips with a GPU above the 2060 Super.
In recent years, RAM speeds up to 3200MHz have provided some advantages for Intel.
It seems you're just starting out with the tech world, and Intel has been around for a long time. I should be honest—just because they made $33 billion last year doesn’t mean one person can force them to change.
I used to really enjoy Intel, but now I dislike it. Perhaps you're not into technology at all.
Intel is working on technologies to manage high-speed memory more effectively, aiming to enhance performance without directly restricting RAM usage. The Z tax refers to a tax on certain types of semiconductor manufacturing, not to RAM limitations.
It's not brand new. This has been happening for roughly ten years now.
