Hello. From the screenshot it appears your system experiences a memory overload when launching regular apps. It seems like nearly all of your 8GB RAM is being utilized, even though no demanding programs are running. This issue occurs occasionally and is resolved by restarting the computer. Anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this? Currently, after a fresh restart, only about 27% of the RAM is active while those same applications run. Thanks!
How many windows are active in Firefox? When you stream lots of content such as YouTube videos, use social media, or browse blogs like Tumblr, the demand increases. Consider closing Firefox to reduce the number of active windows temporarily.
Firefox wasn't the issue; I simply opened it to find the best method for taking screenshots. When the browser was closed, the same challenges appeared.
Rearrange your RAM modules by pulling them out and changing their positions on the motherboard. If this doesn't resolve the issue, it's possible you've encountered malicious software disguised as a FUD article. Restarting your operating system may solve the problem. Consider using Malwarebytes to perform a scan for any threats. Additionally, run a scan with HiJackThis and share your log.
I can capture a screenshot of the performance tab whenever the issue comes back. There are also occasional flickers in the top-left corner of my screen—could this be connected? I’ll also run a malware scan.
Drivers are up to date. Finished the malwarescan now, didn't find any threats. Here's a video of the flickering (sorry for potato quality, shot on an iphone 5): https://www.dropbox.com/sh/wqc8ep2chopjf...FYjKa?dl=0 Will re-check the drivers. Also, I couldn't access any web pages while malwarebytes was running, for some reason. Did you want the log from hijackthis? EDIT: The flickering doesn't occur if I keep my cursor on that part of the screen.
I'll look into the AMD forums then; it's possible the updated drivers have issues. Appreciate you bringing this to my attention—I wasn't aware. McAffee often shows up unexpectedly, even though I don't want it. Thanks for highlighting it; I'll update the log once the problem reappears.
You're using Malwarebytes Pro and McAfee simultaneously? Consider disabling McAfee and check if performance improves. Also, think about turning off Windows Defender permanently—running extra protection usually slows things down without extra advantages. Adjust the settings below to turn it off.
