Good evening everyone. Over the past year I've experienced frequent crashes while playing games. The game itself isn't the main issue, though it's more noticeable with demanding titles like Warframe or AC 6 Fires of Rubicon compared to lighter ones such as Forever Skies. The problems range from closing the program to switching directly to the desktop. Sometimes the screen floods with excessive artifacts before the system crashes completely—forcing me to cut power for about ten seconds before restarting. Everything on my machine feels brand new, which suggests the issue might be related to time or component wear.

I began replacing parts one by one: first RAM, then the CPU, and finally the GPU after a failed RMA. The MOBO unit ended up failing completely. I even upgraded the power supply thinking it would help, but that didn't resolve anything. I've reset BIOS settings and overclocked everything to zero, yet nothing improves. Using DDU to clear drivers didn't work either. In my case, I disconnected most components except essentials—like turning off RGB, removing a water pump, and unplugging non-essential drives—to test for a failing part.

Every attempt to fix it leads to another change, followed by a game crash. Interestingly, I can run benchmark tools like Cinebench or Furmark without issues. My computer specs are still decent, but the event viewer shows strange errors that point toward a GPU problem. I'm at a point where I can't pinpoint the exact cause. My current specs and a copy of the event logs indicate a GPU issue, though I'm unsure what exactly is wrong.

I've tried everything I can remember, but it's frustrating. I'm officially out of options. Please help if you have more experience—anyone with deeper knowledge could be invaluable right now.

Have you performed an SFC scan to identify damaged Windows files? My wife’s machine faced issues much like this—she’d freeze during gaming and at unpredictable times. Even stress tests would cause it to crash. Running SFC/scannow revealed a few corrupted files, which I fixed, and since then it hasn’t crashed again.

It worked well in locating information, but couldn't resolve the issue. Any suggestions? I haven't used this tool before.

Thanks for the guidance. I believe I've resolved the corrupted files and am ready to play AC6 to check if it's still problematic.

Started with the initial fix, then proceeded to SFC. That’s the correct sequence. Also ran chkdsk /f /r to address any possible disk issues.
