Absolutely, it’s unusual to see such a configuration. It’s likely the CPU isn’t booting without a cooler, though it’s possible the system doesn’t support it. Most setups include the cooler already—those mounting brackets are usually present. Have you tried this with your current components? Do you have a specific cooler in mind? Please share the full specifications for reference.

The top has just one CPU connector—either 4-pin or 8-pin. The other type is the alternative pin configuration. If you run tests, placing a cooler helps prevent overheating within about 20 seconds.

It looks like a fan is connected to the CPU header, which shouldn't cause issues. The system should still function even without a cooler, though it's not ideal. I'm checking if the CPU is receiving power properly.

The setup uses both 4-pin and 8-pin CPU power connections. There’s no need for a cooler since it isn’t receiving power, and there’s no chance of overheating.

Ensure only the 4-pin is connected on the 7800X3D. Verify you didn’t use a PCI connector instead of the 8-pin. If there’s no power reaching the board, the PSU isn’t working or your wall isn’t supplying any voltage.
