Because the chips provided for reviews are labeled as engineering samples, I believe they are probably always high-quality chips intended for testing and reporting by reviewers.
True. The percentage of gold vs lead remained about the same though. One could expect a reasonable chance of being close to the review rather than a near zero chance. I also don’t know how much of a difference there is between gold and lead in this series. If it’s not very much it doesn’t matter, but if the difference is large it could turn into a situation where people are paying a lot more money for a significantly poorer product. It will be interesting to see what actual production stuff does.
