I'm playing games while away from home. Need help!
Hey guys, I just set up a solid gaming setup using an RTX 2080. The challenge is that I often stay at home for family visits, making it tough to transport my rig. If I wanted to keep playing games without breaking the bank, what would I do? Build a budget-friendly mini ITX system to take with me? Stream? If streaming, which platform should I use? I mainly play games from Battle Nets client and sometimes on Steam. Anyone have ideas on the most affordable options?
the main issue with a small itx computer is that you also have to bring along a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. a reasonably priced gaming laptop with a gtx 1060 or 1070 would likely be the best choice, since at that screen size the difference between 1080p and 4k isn't noticeable.
Take it easy and get a gaming laptop or explore other options while you're not at home.
agreed
you can connect it in any hotel's LCD TV using HDMI. If you manage to bring along an ITX case, keyboard, and mice, you're all set. However, there aren't many ITX cases that support long 3 fans for the GPU. And if you don't already have an ITX system, you'll need to start from scratch.
I don't require being a 3 fan; I'd get a budget graphics card if I chose the mini ITX path. I already have extra RAM, storage, and intend to upgrade my Ryzen 2600 to Zen 2 this year, so I'll have the necessary components for another build.
That's assuming your at a hotel,

says he needs the pc for housesitting, not everyone is comfortable with allowing you to hook up your pc to their tv, assuming somebody else doesn't want to use it at the same time, that being said, if you are able to use a monitor/tv wherever you need the pc, you make a valid point that the pc could work.
