Hello. I enjoy playing Warzone. It's installed on a 870 Evo SSD with 500GB storage. Running on Windows 11. Only Warzone is active, and the system runs clean with many services turned off. My PC specs include an i59600KF, Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming, MSI RTX 3080, a Seasonic Prime PCIe 4.0 X16 SSD, 850W power supply, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, and a stock CPU with downclocked settings. I have a modded ThermalCore V21 and ten powerful fans for optimal cooling. The temperatures stay low, so it seems the issue isn't thermal. My RAM also has its own cooling, and the stock CPU BIOS works fine even with full fan speed. Despite this, my FPS drops steadily from 140 to around 100 over time, becoming increasingly unstable. After a restart, I get back to normal FPS, but it remains inconsistent. I ran a memory test and found no errors. My RAM is quad-channel 32GB (8x8x8x8). I’m uncertain if the problem lies with the game or my system. I recently upgraded from an RTX 2060 to a 3080 and from a Corsair RMA750X to a Seasonic 850 PSU, and before that I never experienced this issue. However, during my last session with older specs, the performance was much better—about four months ago. The game has undergone many updates since then, so I’m not sure what’s causing the problem. Please assist me.

RAM consumption tends to rise gradually with use. Some games, like Warzone, have reported memory issues due to leaks, especially in dual channel configurations. The 9600kf chip isn’t compatible with quad channels. Actual temps depend on your system and usage patterns.

It appears the issue might involve overheating or power limitations similar to what IkeaGnome discussed. If there was insufficient power, the graphics card would throttle significantly earlier than expected, usually settling at a lower level rather than dropping gradually. There doesn’t seem to be RAM stability problems, though occasional leaks have been reported by some users. More detailed temperature data over time would aid in identifying the cause.

I understand. The sequence begins at 8 and ends at 18, but what concerns you? Before upgrading to 32 RAM, I had 16. I was testing without a page file until Warzone hit my memory limit and the PC crashed. Then FPS would drop suddenly. Temperatures were around 57-60°C, CPU around 50%, and the rest of the system was fine. As I mentioned, you can rely on me because I have a solid air system setup.

That's a low end CPU for warzone.

Initially, thank you all for your responses. Last night I spent more than three hours in Warzone. The RAM usage kept increasing, hitting 22 plus (a new high) and the FPS actually fell as low as 90 (not a steady 90, it dropped between 90 and 140 but was extremely unstable... only around 140 for a frame then varying numbers, ending at the lowest 90). This suggests a memory leak is likely. But why does this relate to the gradual drop in FPS? How can RAM usage affect frame rates? As I mentioned before, I’m adding more components to reach a total of 32, and RAM was almost always near capacity. During testing without a large page file and when the PC would crash, the system would stop crashing until FPS stopped dropping. So what does slowly decreasing FPS have to do with RAM filling up? I’d understand better if you explained it in terms of high temperatures and some unknown reason. I highly doubt that. I run everything at stock speeds, using an XMP profile of 3200 to the stock level (over 2100), and when I did that I added a fan right next to my RAM sticks. I even increased the GPU fan speed via MAI afterburner to prevent the RAM from overheating. At that point, the GPU was running around 50°C, yet it continued behaving the same way. I don’t play any other games; I only play one game with friends for a month each year during off periods like this. I know. But when I used the same CPU with an RTX 2060, I got a stable 120 FPS without any gradual decline. That means the GPU was throttling, but that shouldn’t explain the drop in FPS. It’s definitely not the cause. I’m really trying to figure out why this is happening. If you’re open to it, please suggest some software to monitor PC temperatures and performance while I play, or run a separate benchmark. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Initially, I assumed the increased heat came from the RAm modules near the GPU since they’re close by. However, after adjusting the GPU fan speed, lowering RAM clock speeds, and adding a fan over the modules while keeping CPU fans at full speed, the issue persisted.

It's not only about increased memory usage, as I've noticed before. The game slowly loses performance until it runs out of memory and crashes. It's not an exact match for your experience, but this is what has happened to me with memory leaks in the past.
