It might not be something I look forward to, waiting until October for the release of my sound card drivers.

One might imagine applications needing to pass through a Windows filter to change the GUI, modify links, and similar adjustments. It wouldn’t seem overly difficult for a big company like Microsoft to handle.

Microsoft offers developers almost complete flexibility in Win32, allowing them to implement whatever they wish. When developers adhere closely to Microsoft guidelines, scaling becomes much simpler. On OS X, Apple enforces strict rules about what developers can and cannot do, which is why scaling tends to be more challenging there.

I’m looking forward to it with some hesitations. I really appreciate Microsoft including virtual-desktops in the main system, but I already have a great tool that solved that earlier. I’m confident this new option will be even more flexible and tailored than the built-in one. We’ll find out soon enough. Either I can set up my own shortcuts or figure out how to turn off those desktops completely. Yes, I’m excited—just let me handle it the way I want, using Windows.
