I'm just starting out with Intel and want to improve my OC skills.
I bought a Gigabyte G1 gaming motherboard and trying to understand what all the parts mean. My board model is the Z170X-ultra Gaming. Coming from AMD has made me confused. I’ve noticed Intel has around 20 different names for similar things, which is complicating things.
The main question is: what voltage settings are there for each component? What’s the maximum voltage allowed for each part?
I’ve been reading up for a few months now and still have many questions. For those interested in knowing my CPU, it’s an i7 6700k.
P.S. I wrote this at 3am, so please accept my grammar as rough. Thanks.
■ Each Vcore and Vdimm increase heat generation; it's wise to prioritize maximizing cooling first.
■ The most commonly observed stable CPU voltage is 1.3V.
