Get a Windows key from g2a or reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap, install and activate it. You can use version 8.1 or 7, just avoid the enterprise tier. In a few months you’ll be able to upgrade to Windows 10. ATM driver support for 10 is unreliable at best, and often missing altogether. Don’t rely on Linux if you mainly play games—many titles aren’t compatible, and drivers are scarce. It’s helpful if you’re confident with your setup, but if you’re unsure or slow to adapt, you’ll likely have a frustrating experience.

Pure Gaming on Windows offers better value now, with options to upgrade to the latest versions. Linux has fewer titles available initially, requiring more skill to set up for smooth performance.

1. Budget
2. You're planning to do what
3. Size of PC
- Smaller
- Medium
- Large
(Just like choosing a burger size) I can handle the rest for you. Windows is the top pick, though Linux has its own strengths.)

Of course, Windows is the way to go at least for now. The budget and the size of your PC will definitely make a difference.

1000€ for gaming and everyday use – normal stuff, not anything extreme.
