I’m in a terrible situation and need urgent assistance!
I greatly enjoy playing Fortnite, though recently it’s been experiencing freezing issues. The display frequently becomes a solid color—often blue, occasionally cyan, green, pink, or gray—and sometimes the game crashes with an “rrrrrr” sound. I’ve attempted every troubleshooting step imaginable! I even executed a system file verification scan, but to no avail! PLEASE ASSIST ME! Furthermore, these crashes can also occur while playing Minecraft, though this is exceptionally rare. In almost all instances when Minecraft crashes, I am simultaneously recording the gameplay.
Hello,
Let’s begin with the basics. Provide a complete inventory of your computer's components, encompassing the power supply unit and display screen resolution.
This appears to be a hardware problem, potentially stemming from various sources. I believe it might be related to the graphics card, however, we require further details initially.
Troubleshooting issues like unexpected crashes accompanied by unusual noises might involve a faulty graphics card, a flawed installation, damaged system files, hardware malfunctions, or malware. Whenever you experience these symptoms while playing a game installed on a hard drive, performing an HDD diagnostic is advised.
Furthermore, the System File Checker (SFC) effectively repairs corrupted files only after a system file restore has been completed.
Here’s how to properly execute SFC: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...le-checker
Maintaining adequate drive space is also crucial, particularly for the drive where Windows is installed; aiming for no more than 85% of its actual capacity (rather than the advertised size) is recommended.
Additionally, using MSI Afterburner in the background to monitor real-time temperatures and CPU/GPU usage can be beneficial. You can customize which metrics are displayed on your screen during gameplay.
If you’ve overclocked your processor or graphics card, consider resetting them to their original factory settings, as this could potentially cause instability.
actually nevermind lol imma get you the specs in a second (just FYI I said nevermind because I asked where I could go to get the list of my specs. I still REALLY NEED HELP!) my GPU: AMD Radeon RX 560 4gb ddr5 w/ model # in case you need it va56c5rf41. Also, what specs specifically do you need?
I recently significantly reduced my graphics card’s clock speed and am going to attempt to play Fortnite once more. Please send good wishes. I will update you all on the progress.
VERY GOOD NEWS!!! i dramatically underclocked the gpu and it worked!!... Forrrr about 5 minutes but i was actually playing it where as before i wouldnt be able to get into a game and even stand still EVEN IN CREATIVE BY MYSELF!... for more than 0.25 seconds then it happened. the pc froze up and now i just underclocked it and it increased the time by like 10 minutes so im gonna underclock it more. Again, ill keep you posted
This could be a temporary workaround, yet it doesn't address the root cause. Your goal is to identify the underlying issue. Reducing the GPU voltage might indicate insufficient power output from your power supply unit!
Provide a detailed inventory of your computer’s components: Central Processing Unit/Motherboard, RAM specifications and quantity, Power Supply Unit, case, cooling fans, and all other parts.
Certain components, such as the power supply unit, aren’t typically listed directly within Windows. Software like Speccy can provide some data. While examining the PSU physically might be inconvenient, it’s genuinely important to understand exactly which hardware is being utilized at all times.
I’ve located my system: I have an AMD Radeon RX 560 graphics card and an Intel Core i5-4460 processor, an Asustek V87-Pro motherboard paired with a 600B EVGA PSU. Do you require any further specifications?
