I'm just getting back here for some thoughts. I checked Amazon and found an affordable FM2 socket processor and motherboard. I'll discuss the details later. Right now, my specs are: AMD Sempron 145, unlocked to an Athlon X2 4450e, ASUS M4N68T-M LE V2, 4GB RAM at 1333MHz DDR3, a GeForce 7025/Nforce 630A card, a WD 500GB SSD, and a cheap 250W power supply. I'm upgrading the power supply from a 250W unit to a 450W one. The processor I saw was an AMD A6 6400K, paired with a GA-F2A68HM-S1 Mobo. Should I go with this setup or opt for a third-generation i5 and a cheaper motherboard? For my needs—mid-range gaming and content creation—I’d recommend taking it slow.

What are the costs for these items? I don’t think you can get into the entry-level current generation parts—they often offer better value than even the most expensive older ones.

I believe the Intel choice would be better. It offers significantly more powerful CPU performance compared to what I had before. My previous setup was an A10-5800K, which performed poorly in nearly all aspects. At that time, I had no alternative since my computer was failing and needed a temporary fix. Generally, if you're using AMD after the Phenom II era up to the Ryzen lineup, it's not worth the effort. Opting for an i5-3xxx with just 8GB RAM would be much more advantageous than choosing an A6-6xxx with 32GB RAM.

This AMD Athlon 3000 is a major disappointment—it's significantly cheaper but sacrifices performance compared to the A6. You'll need a completely different setup, which will only make things costlier in the long run and leave you worse off than buying a more affordable alternative.
