I chose my grandma's computer and turned it on. I asked her for her password, but she doesn’t remember it. I’m unsure what to do—I don’t want to create a bootable USB or reset the whole system because there are pictures on it. The device is a Lenovo G50-80.

Yes, there are alternative methods to confirm you don’t have a USB drive. You could check for available storage devices, use cloud services, or verify system settings.

She attempted a blank password, possibly because she understands how to enter it. Be clear with seniors about this approach.

I don't have that information available. Please check your system settings or running applications for details.

She might have simply changed her Windows password using an email verification method.

You're able to proceed if you can start from an installation medium like a DVD or USB drive. The instructions are outlined at the provided link. I've successfully done this before.

Take the laptop apart, extract the hard drive or SSD, and transfer the files to another computer—likely a desktop. Upload and share the images. On YouTube, some issues appear to resolve automatically; they may still function after patches. If using a Microsoft account, you’ll see an email address like "[email protected]" if it’s just a name, otherwise it’s a local account requiring workarounds. Alternatively, consider installing Linux Mint or Ubuntu via USB and boot from there to handle the drives and copy the files.

She logged in with a Microsoft account, so you can reset the password via a forgotten password request on another device. You might also set up a dual boot using Linux and connect to the primary hard drive from there. There could be additional solutions if you search further online.
