The situation started with a lengthy background issue. Because of significant system problems on my local Plex VM, I moved it to a new server. For this occasion, I chose Deluge as my torrent client instead of Utorrent. The corruption lasted roughly two to three months after the power outage, and during that time I attempted to recover the server myself for three months. I didn’t rely on Utorrent much.

On my old setup, Plex ran on an Ubuntu container, alongside Utorrent with a PIA Socks5 proxy for security. After completing the migration and testing everything, I tried a test download using the new client to verify compatibility. The torrent failed to start despite recognizing files.

After some troubleshooting and research, I reached out to Pia about running a VPN on a headless Ubuntu server. They informed me there had been an issue with the Socks5 proxy for about a month and a week. Their response was quite direct: "Actual operating system"!

What are you thinking? Maybe switching to something like Mullvad or Torguard could work better for a non-traditional OS.

I'd need to confirm with them first, just to see if they're compatible with actual operating systems...
