So about a month ago I left my PC running in my room. When I returned, a few minutes later my monitors weren’t receiving a signal from the computer, though the PC was still active and everything seemed normal. The only change was a persistent red light on the motherboard when booting up, indicating the CPU status. I watched several videos and noticed it stayed lit continuously, only turning off briefly before needing another start. I replaced the power supply unit, but that didn’t fix the issue. I swapped in a new CMOS battery, reconfigured the RAM, and even removed and reinstalled the CPU, but nothing worked. Now I’m stuck—either my CPU or GPU is completely dead, or it just started functioning randomly yesterday. I tried everything and am still confused. Here are my details: CPU – Ryzen 7 3700X, GPU – 5700XT MOBO, PSU – B550 Tomahawk, Power Supply – 750 Gold EVGA.
I used 32 grams of Corsair Vengeance LPX. I attempted to boot the system without a CMOS battery, thinking it would still function, though I’m unsure how it might impact performance. I’ll give it a reset then.
