Hey! I just assembled a makeshift PC using old parts from friends and family computers. It’s running fine, but I’m running into a couple of issues. First, it won’t show the display when two RAM sticks are connected—turns on but nothing appears. I checked all the extra sticks and they work when plugged in separately. Second, I’m curious about using XMP on my motherboard after updating the BIOS; I don’t want to risk it if the performance gain isn’t significant. Any advice or tips would be really helpful. Thanks!
Check if the two RAM modules you're considering are the same model or just different versions. The QVL references a specific motherboard and BIOS update that may affect compatibility. You can verify this by reviewing the ASUS documentation or the BIOS update notes.
