I need some assistance with a project and haven’t managed to solve it on my own, that’s why I’m here. The setup is: Intel LGA 1150 Core i5 4440 MSI LGA 1150 B85M - e46 GeForce GTX760 with 2GB RAM and DDR3 8GB running at 1333MHz. I’m curious—if I upgrade the CPU, motherboard, and memory to something like Ryzen 5 3600 with DDR4 16GB (2666-3200MHz) and an ASUS ROG Strix B450, would my system perform better in games or overall? I know the GPU could be a limiting factor, but I can’t afford a new GPU right now.

I believe you're after some fresh storage options. It seems you haven't specified a new drive yet, so I'm assuming you're using an older HDD. Switching to an SSD like the 860 Evo would give your system a much faster feel. You could then allocate more of your budget to a stronger GPU, such as the RX5500 or GTX1650S. Your CPU is decent but not outstanding.
It seems you're considering different options for upgrading your system. You might be looking at a mid-range CPU like the i7-4770 or 4790 or K series from eBay. What's your budget looking like? You could purchase one of those CPUs for around $100, and then allocate any remaining funds to a used RX480, RX570, or 1050Ti. Alternatively, you might opt for a newer model like the 1650 Super RX5500. If your budget is tight, selling the current CPU and GPU could be a good idea before investing in better parts. Have you checked how your GPU performs under full load? Running at 100% usage won't necessarily improve your gaming experience if you're not upgrading the motherboard or CPU. Also, if you're using an old hard drive, as FloRolf mentioned, switching to an SSD and moving your OS and frequently used apps there could be beneficial.

03-15-2019, 01:07 PM #5Sorry for the incorrect details. @FloRolf : I installed an SSD when I first got the computer. @GoldenLag : My PSU is a Cooler Master B500 500W @lightfire : My budget ATM isn’t available, but I’m planning to switch to the AMD Ryzen lineup soon, which is why I reached out. I’m currently playing on the PC with Apex at around 50 FPS and Escape From Tarkov (FPS unknown), though I notice some minor lag spikes. After checking in-game, it seems my GPU is operating between 70-75% during gameplay, rising to 80-83% when things get intense. Thanks for the prompt replies!
