I purchased a Norton internet security key from G2A.com. When attempting to activate it, I received an error. The warning says: "If you activate with this Key, your product could be managed by the other Norton account." This means using this key might link your Norton account to another one, possibly affecting control or access.

I'm coming from that experience. It got tense the other time when I dealt with a Norton problem... but let's keep that in mind. #2 in 2 days. My advice is to verify the account you bought it from and confirm it's the right one. If needed, reach out to them.

It suggests avoiding G2A purchases since they trade stolen or questionable keys. That specific key is already linked to another Norton account.

Yes, the "other account" is able to view personal details such as passwords and scan logs.

When instructed to manage your key installation that way, it could theoretically reach any Norton-accessible area.

I recently spoke with Norton customer support via live chat. When I inquired, the representative explained they could only verify your device name and subscription status for your Norton product. They mentioned they don’t have access to any additional details, and it seems you might obtain an activation key from a registered account, which could potentially be sold on platforms such as G2A.
