I built my wife's PC a year ago and it keeps restarting unexpectedly during games. I’ve tried everything I could think of without success. It only shuts down when under heavy use, sometimes restarting early so the rest of the night stays stable. I’ve reinstalled Windows multiple times—first with 10, then 11—and even swapped out a cheap power supply for a Corsair 750MB. Still experiencing this issue. My CPU is a 3500X (Corsair AIO), and the GPU is the Zotac 3060ti. The PSU is a Corsair 750MB, and I have an MSI B550 A Pro RAM module with 16GB at 3600MHz. The SSD is a Sandisk 500GB M.2, though it’s empty if the drive fills up. After running a memory diagnostic, no problems were found. About one in ten restarts trigger a BSOD. Occasionally helpful, yet limited in scope. Windows Diagnostic offers some value, just like Event Viewer. When you dive deep into the detailed logs, you might identify the problem, but it requires a lot of time sorting through the information and most users prefer not to invest that effort.
Turn off XMP fully; if it restarts again, it suggests the problem isn’t related to RAM. Check if PBO is active and see if there are any specific BSOD or crash signals. Try actions that reliably trigger a crash or create consistency. Verify that all drivers, especially the AMD Chipset driver, are up to date.
